Inspector Harold Jones

Inspector Harold Jones (Builth, 1887 – Hay-on-Wye 1962) joined the Breconshire Constabulary a few years before the First World War, as Police Constable 18. He served in Brecon until 1914, when he was moved to Cwmtaff, and then in 1916 to Penderyn. Various postings around Breconshire followed. During the Second World War he was the Inspector in Ystradgynlais: this photograph was taken outside the Police Station there, in Station Road.
