Kathleen Hilda Wilshire was born on the 12 May 1924 in Dover, where she spent her childhood until the Second World War. It was the war, and large-scale evacuation that brought Kathleen to Caerleon. It was there that she met her future husband, Douglas George, had her family, and taught in Caerleon Endowed School (now Charles Williams Church in Wales Primary School). Kathleen became Headmistress of Caerleon Endowed Infants School and retired in 1983.
