Model School Creative Group - Mapping the Model

Mapping the Model is a collection of work created by Year 4 pupils at the Model School in Carmarthen during the first months of 2018.  The school are part of the Arts Council of Wales' Lead Creative Schools programme and have been working with artist Rowan O'Neill on a project investigating concepts of mapping.  The pupils were given the task of being cartographers of their surroundings physically, geographically and culturally.  The project has resulted in a diverse collection of media and responses to be found on this website.  The working title for the project was 'Putting Ourselves on the Map'.  From the mappa mundi, to the ordnance survey to google maps the pupils have become familiar with the varied ways we have devised to represent the world.
