Fred Davies was a member of the Cardiff Reservoirs Fly Fishing Club from 1963 until 2021. From 1969 he served in various capacities on the club committee as Secretary, Treasurer and Chairman. In 2015 he wrote “The Cardiff Reservoirs Fly Fishing Club: a brief history”. This tells the story of Llanishen and Lisvane reservoirs in North Cardiff, and the history of the fishing club from its formation in 1948 until the cessation of fishing at the reservoirs in 2004. Fred also went on to represent the interests of the fishing club at the various public inquiries into the proposed housing development at the reservoirs, which were held in 2006, 2008 and 2011.
