[This window commemorates two local men and brothers who died in WW1. Sergeant Percy Boswell died in action at at Gallipoli 1915 aged 23 and his brother Second Lieutenant Alan Boswell was shot down while piloting a DH9 during a daylight bombing raid 1918 aged 28. The inscription dedicated to them reads: ‘To the Glory of God and in loving memory of Alan Thompson Watts Boswell RAF and 11th Welsh Regiment and Percy William Innes Boswell Sergeant Manchester Regiment this window was erected by their friends’ Both brothers enlisted in 1914 and served on the Western Front. Alan Boswell was an International in rugby and hockey and played for Cardiff City as an amateur as well as Glamorgan County Cricket Club. Sergeant Boswell is commemorated on the Helles Memorial to the missing at Gallipoli and is also commemorated on memorials at Cardiff High School and Cardiff University. Lieutenant Boswell was laid to rest at Dunhallow Cemetery, Ypres He is also commemorated on memorials at Cardiff High School, Cardiff University and Cardiff Corporation.
