Cyril Summers was the Minister of a few Church communities in the area of Maindee during the late 1950s-60s. One of the Churches was the Corporation Road Forward Movement Church, otherwise known in the community as the 'Church on the Corner' as it was situated on the corner of both Eton Road and Corporation Road, Maindee, Newport.
