Back-a-Yard
Back-a-Yard is an oral history project which is gathering the stories of African-Caribbean people who came to live in Newport during the 1950s and 1960s (and later), including their memories of the Caribbean and their reasons for coming to the UK. The eighteen-month project is run by the SEWREC and supported by the National Lottery through the Heritage Lottery Fund. The project runs from October 2014 to March 2016.
