Loretta Williams Houben
My paternal grandparents were both born in Wales. John Griffith Williams was born on February 17, 1888 in Blaenau Ffestiniog.
Alma May Palmer was born on January 20, 1908 in Cardiff, Wales. They both wound up in Saskatchewan Canada, where they met and married in 1928.
In 1941 they moved with their young family to Vancouver BC, where I was born years later.
I'm interested in discovering more about my grandpa's parents and siblings who are a mystery to me as the family lost contact with each other.
Grandpa had an older sister named Ellen, and 2 younger brothers; Robert David and William Joseph. William died at 19 in Salonika Greece while fighting for the Royal Welch Fusiliers in 1917.
Their parents names were Joseph Williams and Elizabeth whose maiden name was Roberts.
Update: March 2016 I've since heard from Robert David Williams' grandson, Paul, who lives in Perth Australia! Many mysteries have been solved, and now I'm hunting for Ellen's family.
I've also discovered that Ellen's married name was Simpson, and she had one daughter named Vera. That's all I've learned to date.
