Brynamman West Station (Great Western) c 1912
Disgrifiadau
This line ran down to Pantyffynon and on to Llanelly, it was closed to passengers on August 4th 1958. Here is an extract from 'The History of Brynamman' by Enoch Rees (1883/96) - translated by Ivor Griffiths; "1841/46, these were important years in the history of Brynamman. Two valuable things came to the place. The first chapel, and the first railway. The railway from Garnant to Brynamman was built by John Jones, Brynbrain. It was a branch, or rather an extension of the Llanelly & Dock Company Railway for the purpose of carrying the coal of 'Level y Bresen' to its market." Photograph contributed by David Smith).
