This inscription comes from the Bible which was given to the family of John Evans, one of the 176 victims of the Llanerch Colliery Explosion 1890. John was the son of John and Mary Evans of Upper George St Pontypool. He was 12 when he died of suffocation and burns. He is buried at Penygarn Baptist Chapel Pontypool.
