Llanymynech railway station was an important junction station on the Cambrian Railways mainline from Welshpool to Oswestry. It was closed c1965 under the Beeching axe. Llanymynech Hill and quarries can be seen in the background. The chimney of the Hoffmann Kiln in the limeworks which closed in 1914 is also seen.
