Copy of the Llanwnda church burial registry recording the burial of two unknown bodies recovered from Llanverran land (Llanferran) and believed to be from the CHARLES HOLMES wrecked at Aberbach in 1859:

Burials in the Parish of Llanwnda in the county of Pembroke in the Year 1859

Name: 2 bodies found under Llanverran land supposed to be part of the crew of the Charles Holmes of Liverpool, wrecked in Aberbach in that awful storm which took place Tuesday night on the 25th October, 1859. All hands were lost.
Names unknown.
When buried: November 9th 1859.
By whom the ceremony was performed: A. H. Richardson, Vicar.

In total, just 12 bodies of the 28 crew were recovered, two being buried Llanwnda, with the majority buried in the churchyard at Granston, close to where the ship was wrecked. A gravestone at Granston is dedicated to both Captain Bowlby, captain of the CHARLES HOLMES, and the crew.
