Roman Road continues westwards

Disgrifiadau

Having risen from the valley floor at the Tal-y-Cafn crossing of the River Conwy, this old Roman road has traversed the slopes of Tal-y-Cafn mountain and Y Drum as it passed through the Bwlch-y-Ddaufaen pass. It now continues on its way westwards towards Segontium (Caernarfon). Over to the right of the image in the low gap between the two hills is the valley behind Abergwyngregyn and the magnificent Aber Falls. It is along this valley that the Anglesey cattle drovers would bring their herds up on to the roman road and continue to Tal-y-Cafn before resting up for the night, on their way to the markets of England.
