The railings outside the Italian Cafe was always a popular place to watch the world go by. From here you would see the challenges as buses and lorries tried to get around the bend onto Osborne Road.
This picture was taken in the 1950's and in the 1960's the buildings on the left hand side of the road were demolished and new shops built.
