Parc Glynllifon Estate gas works, Gwynedd, 1995
Glynllifon was the family seat of the Wynn family, Barons Newborough. The estate model workshops were laid out around two courtyards by the second Baron before 1832, and included stables, cart sheds, a smithy, timber mill, slate mill and a tannery. In this drawing the retort house of the gas works is rendered transparent to show the three retorts and tar filters within; the underground pipe system is also shown. Vignettes show a retort, a gas lamp,a water heater, and the stoker raking out a retort. The site is now in the care of Gwynedd Council.
