Tŷ Uncorn, Blaenau Ffestiniog, 1978

Disgrifiadau

Drawing by Falcon Hildred. Tŷ Uncorn, Blaenau Ffestiniog- view from the gate, 1978
Pencil and watercolour on paper.
Tŷ Uncorn is one of the oldest surviving domestic buildings associated with the slate industry in Blaenau Ffestiniog, built in about 1810 by Lord Newborough to house workers. Four dwellings clustered around a shared central chimney stack. The name means Unicorn House but it is also sometimes called Inkpot House owing its similarity of shape to a traditional glass inkwell. In this drawing Falcon has included a sheep that has got into the garden and is eating a tree.
