Ynylas National Nature Reserve, 2010
Disgrifiadau
The remoteness of Ynyslas and a sand dune system which could a hide variety of small installations were amongst the great attractions when the Ynyslas was selected by the War Office to be developed as a firing range. Many of the existing houseswere taken over as billets for some 200officers and ratings, including staff from the women's ATS.
The majority of the buidlings and installation were cleared when the land was handed back to its local owners at the end of the war, but the clues hinting at this great influx of wartime activity can still be found.
