Pages of the 1927 Welsh in Education and Life Repo
Disgrifiadau
These are pages 176 and 177 of the printed report Welsh in Education and Life, published by the Department Committee appointed by the President of the Board of Education to inquire into the position of the Welsh Language in 1927. These sections of the conclusion draw attention to the pressure on the Welsh language of the growth in English-speaking tourists, even into the remotest rural areas, and the exchange of labour between Wales and England. Well-educated Welsh youth emigrate to England where there are more employment opportunities and cheap property in Wales is bought by monoglot English people. Even the Eisteddfod needs to be protected from English.
