My dear Gordon
This is a poor return for
your letter, but better than a
personal appearance just now, as I
am feeling very old & useless, partly
through lack of work, partly through
real weakness perhaps & partly
through wind & rain. But tell me
whether on any night next week save
Tuesday, Wednesday if you would put me up.
I shan't be in town except for ½ a
day for nearly 3 weeks, but I
would come over soon if I could
stay a night.
I hope you will like Ellis &
Mrs Cahillus is an old friend & I
send it to you because I have a
poorer but smaller variety, &
space is important in a tiny
cottage such as we expect to move to
in June or before.
I hope the wind & rain haven't
been too much for you.
Emily didn't come over.
Goodbye
Yours ever
Edward Thomas
