Letter from Edward Thomas to his wife, Helen Thomas. Archival reference: 424/1/1/1/1/99
are you unwell, or only very busy that you have not written me a word? You might have guessed what an absurd state I should be in without news of you, and no news to be expected if any other creature in the world. I am in the last stage of dejection, to be unable to go to Wimbledon, and also unable to go to Town from lack of fares and of object.
Last night I could not get the bicycle: Unless I hear from you today , I shall not come round
or stay in, so as to spite myself and you, so don't call.
I am being hopeless I wish you had not chosen such a method of rebuking my greed - or is it that you are ill , or over busy?
Edward.
