This picture shows three of the first Hydro-Electric generating sets being installed in the Aluminium Corporation power house - the Bruce Peebles nameplate can be seen on the dynamo to the left. There were in total four sets of Bruce Peebles generators installed in 1908 with Serial Numbers 7645, 7646, 7647, 7648, 7649, 7650, 7651, 7652...these were all removed by 1945-6. Each set was designed to rotate at 450rpm and generate 500kW at 125W and 4000Amps. A further set was installed here in 1918 by Bruce Peebles which continued to be used after 1946 and was reinstalled in the "new" CEGB power station. It ran off the lower pressure head from Llyn Coedty until 27 June 1966.
