Derbyniwyd y llythyr yma gan deulu Archie Lee yn dilyn ei farwolaeth ar 10 Ebrill 1918. Roedd ei dad, Alfred Lee, wei ysgrifennu i ofyn am wybodaeth ynglŷn â marwolaeth Archie. Transcript: Dear Sir, I have just received your letter of July 18th enquiring as to the fate ofyour son, Corp. Lee. I have instituted enquiries & find that he was killed on April 10th. He was killed instantaneously by explosion ofa shell & suffered no pain. I sincerely trust that this little information may be of some comfort to you. I was not with the company at the time & there is no officer with us now who was present at the time of your son's death. This would be the reason why you had received no news from this side. I am extremely sorry that I am not in a position to give you any more information because I, through bitter experience, know what it means to lose dear ones on the field of battle.
