River Hoffnant runs through the valley, known as Cwm Lladron (the Robber's Valley). The valley is steeped in history and was a well known destination for illicit Irish cargo in the 18th Century. Penbryn beach and surrounding area is part of the 13 miles of coast line managed by the National Trust in Ceredigon.
