This is a written account of the service in the Royal Welch Fusiliers of British Army Veteran Bruce McCay. Bruce served in northern Germany with 7 RWF during February to April 1945. He was withdrawn from battle when he was wounded but later returned to serve with 1 RWF in Germany in 1947. This account draws upon conversations with Bruce, which were recorded at his home in April 2025. Bruce was 99 years of age when he spoke about his experiences in World War Two.
