This set of medals were awarded to British Army Veteran Bruce McKay who served with the 7th battalion of the Royal Welch Fusiliers. Bruce joined up with the battalion in February 1945 and took part in several battles, as the 53rd Welsh Division advanced across the rivers Rhine, Weser and Aller. Bruce would transfer from the Home Guard into the Royal Welch Fusiliers and take part in several battles to cross the rivers Rhine, Weser and Aller in Germany during the advance through Germany between February and April 1945.
