This is a copy of a photograph belonging David Nigel Hopkins of Aberystwyth. The image captures a childhood Nigel meeting a Welsh soldier near the war memorial in Aberystwyth on remembrance day, about 1956. Nigel seems unphased by the giant soldier. A little later in life Nigel joined the Royal Air Force. His memoirs and photographs relating to his service can be viewed online in the Nigel Hopkins RAF collection at the West Wales Veterans Archive on the Peoples Collection Wales website.
