The Central Cinema, fronting on Hannah Street, Porth opened in 1916 and closed in the 1960s as a cinema reopening as a bingo hall in 1969. It has been derelict for some years. The stucco façade was on Hannah Street while the rear of the building on Pontypridd Road was mainly stone and brick. By the 1960s the cinema struggled with competition from the cinemas in Pontypridd which had the new films ahead of Porth.
