Steve Rippon, Professor of Landscape Archaeology at the University of Exeter, has a long standing interest in the Gwent Levels. During the 1990s he worked with Rick Turner, Ancient Monuments Inspector at CADW and one of the inspirations for the Living Levels project, to produce a detailed history of the Levels. He is one of the chief historical advisers on the Living Levels project.
