Martin Bell, Professor of Archaeological Science at the University of Reading, has been studying the Gwent Levels since the early 1990s. He was investigated Mesolithic and Iron Age sites along the coastline that have radically altered our understanding of prehistoric communities in Britain. He is one of the chief historical advisers on the Living Levels project.
