Ysgrifennodd May Hewlett:
"My Father Anthony is on the cart in this picture - the young boy wrapped in bandages - the start of his life in First Aid. I don’t know why the picture was taken, but my Father was always interested in first aid and helping others. The picture dates from before the turn of the century, Anthony was born in 1884. Sadly I don't know where it was taken.
Father was the Red Cross man at work and took many classes training others. About 1900 a great jamboree of First Aiders took place in Windsor Great Park to parade and demonstrate to Queen Victoria. Father went and took his uniform. Unfortunately during one event he was sitting out a ‘friend’ borrowed his uniform. He never saw his friend or his uniform again. He remained the first aid man at his works for many years."
