Note 1: Stow Hill Baptist Chapel was built in 1863 to the design of architects Habershon and Pite of Newport. It is constructed in the Classical style, based on Italian Renaissance models, with a gable-entry plan and round-headed windows. It has a grand temple front of three bays, with a stuccoed exterior. It has a heavy pediment with an oculus and Doric entableture and pilasters over a doorway with a bracketed pediment. To the left is a 20th century extension. This chapel was converted for use as Zanzibar nightclub and in 1996 to Heights nightclub. The building is now [2010] Grade 2 Listed for its grand classical frontage.
