My great great grandfather was born in Milford. At the tender age of 9 he began a seven year apprenticeship at sea to become a sailor (timber trade, Baltic Sea).
Seeing the entrance to the harbour he left from means such a lot to me. Thank you. My great great grandfather eventually settled in New Zealand.
