This is an audio clip from an interview with Keren and Nathan Abse where Keren shares what it's like to be Dannie Abse's daughter.

In their interview, Keren Abse talks about growing up in London in Golders Green, a community with a sizable Jewish population, and about visiting her grandparents who lived in Wales. She has worked in a number of teaching positions, including as a Deputy Head teacher and then Head of a sixth from college. She retired in 2015. Keren has been involved with the National Union of Teachers, and her family is known to be politically active. During this interview Keren's cousin, Nathan Abse, is present as they discuss their family history. Keren and Nathan each share details about their families growing up, as well as what their parents were like. They share memories of member of their extended family, such as Keren's uncle Leo and their grandfather Wilfred. Keren considers her family's left-wing political affiliations and how they have affected her. She discusses her father, the author and poet Dannie Abse, and what it is like being his daughter, and both Nathan and Keren consider what their Jewish heritage means to them.
