This picture shows a 435kg aluminium alloy rolling slab being offloaded from the ingoing rolling table of the 60" wide 800Hp Robertson single stand reversing hot mill. The mill was capable of rolling a 10" thick slab down to 6.35mm (quarter inch) in about 2.5 minutes - it could be coiled for 4 high strip rolling after 1965 - or prior to that cut into slabs for break down on the 1918 Krupp 3-high mill. The Robertson hot break down mill was installed c. 1958.
